Course Description:Introduction to Theology: A Pentecostal Perspective, Second Edition (5 CEUs)
A study of historic Christian doctrines as expressed through Protestant and evangelical traditions. The course provides a complete study of the “Statement of Fundamental Truths” of the General Council of the Assemblies of God.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
Explain the doctrine of the inspiration of Scripture.
Give the biblical basis for the doctrine of the Trinity.
Explain the importance of both the humanity and deity of Christ.
Summarize the doctrine of the fall and salvation of humankind.
Explain the meaning and function of communion and water baptism as ordinances of the church and contrast this meaning with the view that these are sacraments of the church.
Summarize the doctrine of the baptism in the Holy Spirit and its initial, physical evidence.
Compare and contrast the instant and progressive aspects of sanctification.
Explain the relationship between the ministry and the church.
Summarize the relationship between the Atonement and divine healing.
Discuss the Rapture and its timing.
List the major end-time events in order.
