Our President

Scott & Ruth Thompson

Scott and Ruth have long carried a heart and passion for missions, dating back to Ruth’s role as Speed the Light coordinator while she was a part of her student ministries group.

Although Scott and Ruth were involved in a wide array of ministries in their local church, Scott started out working for a Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm and later worked as a government banking examiner eventually becoming an Assistant Director.

In 2003, Scott responded to God’s call on his life and became a full-time staff pastor at his local church including being an Executive Pastor and Missions Pastor at a church that supported over 300 missionaries.  For Scott and Ruth, it has always been about making a local and global impact – seeing Christ proclaimed, disciples trained, churches planted, and sharing the hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

While they loved serving their pastor and church to advance the Kingdom, the day came when God asked them if they would be obedient and actually go and represent Him to the nations. As they prayed to be successful, God asked if they would be obedient. As they prayed for laborers to be sent, God asked if they would be His laborers and go.

In 2018, Scott and Ruth became fully-appointed career missionaries to Indonesia.  Their primary focus is working with the church leadership of their host country to train, equip, mentor and disciple Indonesians for the work of the ministry and especially those establishing Christ communities where the church does not yet exist.

This includes Scott serving on the Board of Directors of the Indonesian Bible School in Ambon, working with the host country’s Never Reached missions department, providing dozens of scholarships to Bible School students, and helping to coordinate Institute of Islamic Studies seminars in various locations of Indonesia.  Scott has also been serving on the Indonesian field’s Executive Committee.
