Course Description: BMIN261 Introduction to Assemblies of God Missions (5 CEUs)
This is an introductory course in the science of missions. It is a survey of the theology, history, and methods of Christian missions in general and within the Assemblies of God. There is a special emphasis on recent developments, crucial issues, current trends, and missions as they are carried out through national and local churches.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
Understand what the Bible teaches about missions.
Trace the theme of God’s mission throughout the Old and New Testaments.
Appreciate the role of missions in church history and in the Assemblies of God, both in the USA and in other countries.
Explain various methods used in the task of missions.
Apply principles of partnership to missions on the local, national, and international levels.
Understand the key role of the local church in missions.
Identify and examine current trends in modern missions.
Appreciate the role of missions in the social and political environment.
