Course Description: BIB378 Apologetics: Understanding and Defending Your Faith
One of the greatest challenges facing the Church today is equipping believers to evangelize the post-Christian Western world. This course will focus on preparing you to face these challenges with confidence and effectiveness.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
Explain the role of apologetics in presenting the gospel in a relative, persuasive way.
Explain the proper relationship between faith and reason in a Christian context.
Explain a logical line of reasoning for the existence of God.
State arguments for belief in the deity of Christ and His bodily resurrection from the dead.
Give reasons why one may trust the Bible as God’s authoritative revelation to all people.
Compare the claims of science and Scripture to show they are basically in harmony.
Describe various views concerning the presence of evil and suffering in the world and explain how a Christian is enabled to understand and accept this reality.
State reasons for the validity of the Christian experience.
